Again, something a little different! This is a christmas present as well as an ongoing project. I don't tend to draw many buildings so I found this quite a challenge!

Hello! As promised in my last post, I have spent the last couple of weeks being very creative! As well as my usual illustration projects I have been making christmas presents and drawing many pictures of flowers! I drew the large vase as a birthday present for my mum and found it so relaxing that I just kept drawing! I've now drawn about 12 (some better than others) and plan to draw many more just as soon as I have a new pot of ink.

This might be a nice time to mention that I am planning on selling these pictures either as originals or prints so please feel free to get in contact if you'd like one!

Hello! Here is a new greetings card! I had a lot of fun with this one - The drawing was another find from my sketchbook. Why is it that sketches always seem to turn out better than final drawings? Anyway, I plan to be very prolific over the next couple of weeks, so (hopefully) expect more cards to come!

Monday 10 September 2012

Had a lovely afternoon experimenting with different ways to colour in my book. This is one of MANY versions currently saved to my computer! Don't think I've got the feel quite right yet, but getting close!

Here are a couple of double page spreads from a new picture book I just finished.  Story-wise I think it needs a bit of work, BUT I was very happy with how some of the dummy book pages came out and thought they deserved an airing!
Some quick cat designs!

Sunday 2 September 2012

Well its been a little longer than I had planned but here is the next instalment in my little collection of creepy pictures. My inspiration for this drawing was the young girl wearing the wedding dress in the movie "The Others". She really scared me.

Vote for me!!!

Hello!

I have just entered a competition to illustrate a rhyming children's book called "The Incredible Chapore".  The story is set in the jungle and involves a poacher and various animals...
It would be a lot of fun to illustrate, so if any of you kind folks want to vote for me I would be really grateful! If you would like to vote please visit: http://www.illustrateit.co.uk/gallery.asp

Thank you for your support!xx

These are some interior black and white illustrations for "Luka and the Fire of Life" by Salmon Rushdie. I had great fun doing these and it is such a good book to read!
Going to the London Book Fair tomorrow! Just finishing off lots of last minute bits for my portfolio, including.... my new children's book!

Its called "Its not my Fault" and here is a sneak peak at what it will look like:

Something a bit different. I found all my old copies of the National Geographic and was inspired to draw cityscapes and animals! The turtle picture is a work in progress (I haven't made up my mind about the old man's face yet) but I thought I would put them up anyway!

Some more images for greetings cards!

Monday 6 February 2012

I found this bear in one of my sketchbooks the other day and thought he was too cute not to use for something. Here he is in a hot air balloon!

In other news, I just had an idea for a new children's book. If I can, I might try to get done in time for the London Book Fair in April. Its only a vague idea at the moment but i'm pretty excited about it!

Friday 3 February 2012

Hello! Its been a bit quiet for a while, but don't worry I'm busy working on stuff! I've got a few bits on the go at the moment but none of it is ready for sharing yet so I'm putting this up in the mean time!

Friday 6 January 2012

This is something that I did over the summer but forgot to post up - An illustration for a short story about a parquet floor and the old man who looks after it. It was a really sweet story and I enjoyed the challenge of using a very limited colour palette.
